The first conflict is Character vs. Character between The Tao and Barbour. Barbour is your typical jock who is all into sports and following them. Barbour is found yelling at this mentailly ill kid who was wearing his dead famous older brothers letterman jacket. Barbour tells him that you have to be in a sport in order to have the respect to wear the jacket. The Tao notices this and stands up for Chris. Tao tells barbour that he has a right to wear the jacket to pay respect to his dead brother. I happen to think this conflict will be active through out the whole story.

Another Conflict in my book is Character vs. Self. Chris the mentally ill kid whose brother was a famous sports star for the school, is having a conflict within about if he should go on the swim team or not. He has pressure from Tao to join because he thinks he is safe in the water.

The theme of my book is about a high school student who trys helping out one of his teachers to make a swim team. All the other schools in their confrence has a swim team but Custer Highschool doesnt even have a pool. The main character struggles to find other swimmers for the team hopeing he can make some of the so called losers popular.

The main character in my book is The Tao. His mother named him after a book she read. The Main character is black, Japanese, and white. He was adopted by a family because his mom could not take care of him. He is very developed for his age. He is very intelegent but doesnt like when people make fun of his ethnic background. He really enjoys swimming but doesnt want to play basketball or football because he doesn't like to be told what to do.

The new book that I am reading now is Whale Talk. This book was written by Chris Crutcher. The book was published by Dell Laurel-Leaf. The writting on the back says this book is about a boy who is in high school who loves to swim. The problem is that the school doesnt have a swimming team. This book seemed intresting to me because im really into sports.

-The main character in this novel is Chris. The character changed over time from being autistic and scared of the color yellow to being more calm and easy going. The characters personality is very different from anyone eles. He is Autistic and afraid of the color yellow. To calm himself he likes to count out all his prime numbers.

WHAT is the novel about?

-This novel is about an autistic boy who finds on of his neighbor's dog dead with a pitch fork in its side. The boy who name is Chris desideds to go and find out who did it. This sends him a very adventerious story leading him to all of his neighbor hood to find out who killed the dog.

-This story takes place in a small town like ours. The setting is present time in a rural town with lots of houses. It adds a present day theme to it, like it could happen down the street from you. The location really gives the character its mood. The setting is really important to the story because if it happend in any other time period it really couldn't make sense.

WHEN does the climax of the novel occur? Tell me about it.

-The book ends with the boy finding out who killed the dog. It took him a little while by he found out who did it.

WHY did the author write this story? What point is the author trying to make? Link your why response to a theme.

-The author wrote a really good story. I think that he wrote this because maybe he had some what of an expierenece of this. The author is showing that anything is possible if u try. The author makes the story about an autistic kid, so he must be showing that u can do anything

Im going to do a scene in the dad's point of view. chapter 79. page 48. When he got home i was sitting at the table in the kitchen and i had made supper for him. I wsa wearing a lumberjack shirt. The supper was baked beans and broccoli and two slicesof hame and they were laid out on the plate so that they were not touching. This scene shows how the son is kind of weird and really likes things nice and neat. The dad is kind of laid back and supports the kid.

The settle of my novel is present day. He makes it seem like it could happen right down the street from you. The auther really talks about the houses and people in this book. He is good at explaining the houses and really likes his main chacater. The setting seems like a nice town like yankton.

These quotes show how he explains everything very good. He is authentic and uses a lot of details to explain what he is talking about in his book

The important character i have read about is Christopher who is the main character. The character is very smart and can do a lot in his head. He was brought in the story by finding a dog dead. The auther really revolves around this character in the book. He is the most important character in this book and its about him.

The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time is a little confusing because the main character is Autistic. His name is Christopher, he lives in a small town with his Dad. When Chris's mother died he did not get to see her because her dad only went to visit when he was at school. The book starts off with Chris finding his neighbors dog Wellington dead in the garden with a pitch fork in it. The cops come and think that Chris killed the dog. The cop tries picking up Chris but because Chris doesn't like to be touched he punches the cop in the face. Chris starts to act like a detective and try and find who killed Wellington. This part in the book it is getting very interesting and makes me want to read more.

The title of the book I am reading is The Curious Incident of the Dog in The Night-Time by Mark Haddon. Their are 226 pages in this book. I chose this novel because the book seemed interesting, and I liked what I read on the back. I got the clues that it was going to be about a dead dog. Someone was going to try and solve the mystery. The book was published by Vintage contemporaries and the copyright is 2003 Mark Haddon.
